Teletherapy, also called by other names such as telehealth, has been practiced by the Well Counseling Center for a few years. Teletherapy has many benefits and is well-suited for such a time as this.

  • Social distancing? No problem! Teletherapy is done through HIPAA safe platforms.
  • A crazy schedule? No issue! Teletherapy lends itself to a lot more flexibility. I have seen people on their lunch breaks, late at night, and all kinds of unusual outside-of-typical-office hours!
  • Sick? Or afraid of getting sick? You can do teletherapy in the comforts of your own home, in your own bed if you so desire.
  • Insurance? Teletherapy is covered by most insurance; and at this time many restrictions are being waived.
  • Not used to the idea of others possibly knowing you go to therapy? While the stigma of getting mental health help has greatly decreased, teletherapy is more private for those  who have concerns that someone may see them going into an office.
  • Out of town? No problem! Teletherapy is also great if a couple or a family wish to do counseling but not everyone can be in the same location at the same time.

Many therapists are doing teletherapy now. If you’re struggling, feeling alone, or just need someone to talk to, there has never been a better time than now to try teletherapy.
